Study Skills Workshop

A successful exam preparation/study tips workshop was delivered by Peer Leaders at Bendale BTI to all the grade nines in January. The workshop was designed by Trinity’s Ayshia Degia and Alain Joubert. We had a great day at Bendale! Best wishes to everyone who wrote exams this semester.

Peer Mentoring and Bullying

Mentoring work on bullying was carried out at Victoria Village PS in January. The grade five Peer Leaders visited classrooms of students in grades one through four. Great Job Peer Leaders!

Thank You

Our thanks to Superintendent Uton Robinson for inviting us to address his Family of Schools regarding our programs in January!

What We Do

We live in a world of miracles – Miracles of engineering and electronics, of genetics and space travel;
The world of 1 + 1 = 2.

At Trinity we are committed to a different order of miracles-miracles of relationship, of collaboration and caring, the world of 1 + 1 = 3. Where one person plus one person equals a third; namely their relationship together.

Trinity’s personal/social development program that aims to give students and teacher/administrators the tools to develop safer, more productive learning communities by empowering individual peer leaders teachers and administrators to take on leadership roles in the social / emotional development of their peer groups and relate this development to academic achievement.

The program is actually made up of five individual programs

  • A Transition Program in which Peer Leaders are trained to mentor transition students in their first two crucial years of high school.
  • A Mediation Program customized to the realities of high school to mediate disputes and practice conflict resolution.
  • An Elementary and Middle School Program in which Peer Leaders again are trained to address bullying and relational aggression issues in their school community.
  • Social/emotional development and anger management programs for Suspended and Expelled students.
  • And a Leadership for Life Program achieved partly through personal training and partly online.

A coaching program meant to develop an infrastructure of Peer Leaders in schools trained to address the social development of their community. Ultimately all the programs whether targeted at transition issues, personal conflict or the development of personal leadership come down to the development of an individual’s resilience and their capacity to:

  • Handle conflict
  • Collaborate with others
  • Be self aware and at home in their own body and mind
  • Practice compassion towards others

And the creation of a social development awareness in the community as a whole.
