A successful exam preparation/study tips workshop was delivered by Peer Leaders at Bendale BTI to all the grade nines in January. The workshop was designed by Trinity’s Ayshia Degia and Alain Joubert. We had a great day at Bendale! Best wishes to everyone who wrote exams this semester.
Mentoring work on bullying was carried out at Victoria Village PS in January. The grade five Peer Leaders visited classrooms of students in grades one through four. Great Job Peer Leaders!
Our thanks to Superintendent Uton Robinson for inviting us to address his Family of Schools regarding our programs in January!
Why stay in a box?
Especially when the traditional elements within that box i.e. theatre!
are becoming more distanced from everyday reality, and increasingly ineffective in apprehending and giving shape to that reality.
Why not experiment with core theatre processes
outside the usual performance / audience relationship in a traditional theatre space.
Beginning in 1982
using a street theatre / social action
model of theatre
creating plays from Canadian history (Baldwin)
and the Bible (Genesis / David)
and building an ensemble of artists / actors
through plays on social issues
(Urban Critters / Youth and Alcohol / AIDS / Women in Canada)
in the Toronto District School Board
and applications to management issues in
Corporations and Government
(Men and Women Working Together / Equity / Change Management)
moving to theatre beyond theatre
stepping out of the box
experimenting in fields of Watersheds and Ecosystems,
Health Promotion and
Crime Prevention Through Social Development
to Peer Leadership programs
addressing issues of bullying, relational aggression,
anger management, and substance abuse
in school communities
and specialized programs for
suspended and expelled students
Trinity has worked with the following organizations…
A series of keynote presentations were created in which senior managers took part as actors in a dialogue on Men and Women Working Together.
Trinity created a presentation on being an Executive in the Public Service for use in moderating a panel discussion. As well a wrap up presentation was designed to facilitate discussion of the day’s events.
A series of art and theatre based public meetingsenhanced and facilitated discussion to gather public input.
Trinity created Diversity at Work, a learning program comprised of on-site research, focus group work and the inclusion of staff in the interactive presentations.
World Vision Canada, Foster Children Canada, Save the Children Canada and Christian Children Fund. Trinity submerged their art techniques into a pattern of work at a conference aimed at integrating young women who were survivors of abuse from seventeen different countries – creating a sanctuary for them to overcome language and cultural differences and share their stories
